Dr. Herbert Lockyer, who wrote the classic book All the Prayers of the Bible, counted 650 prayers in the Bible. This summer we will look more closely at the nine that stand out among the rest. Today’s prayer reveals the weight and significance of prayer. If we could gain some of the confidence and attitude in prayer that Abraham showed, we could significantly increase our influence in our families, church and community. While we all see the need for soft and gentle prayer, today we learn the importance of our standing in the gap for those who cannot stand for themselves.
