Haustafel

Today’s topic has famously become known as the Ephesian Haustafel (literally “House‐table”). This 500‐year old German phrase was coined by Martin Luther to refer to the Christian house duties (Christian domestic rules) found in Ephesians 5 (specifically duties for husbands—wives; parents–children; masters–slaves). These extremely practical duties will help us live as God has intended us to live. Whether you are married or not married, it is still healthy for us to look at God’s intentions for husbands and wives by way of the Ephesian Haustafel.
