Now that we are halfway through Ephesians, the theology emphasis has turned to practice. Chapters one, two and three are much like a conference on theology (with a splattering of application). Chapters four, five and six are more like a clinic (with a splattering of theology). For instance, in today’s text we apply the theology of our “oneness.” Paul already told us that we are co-members in unity, but now he explains our individual roles in keeping the unity. Let’s go ahead and change gears with him and consider our unique roles for the unity of the church.
