The book of Ephesians has been said to be the most “profound” of all Paul’s writings (J. Baxter). While there is clearly a “theological” first half of the book (chapters 1-3), there is also a clear “practical” second half (chapters 4-6). In today’s text, we see the same dual-theme of theology and practice. Because we are “heavenly placed,” we will therefore be of “earthly good.” Let’s not pick one over the other, let’s pick both. This morning we will sure-up our theological foundation of “salvation by grace” so that we can practically be about “good works.” Sermon & Growth Group Notes |
